How to Convert CR2 File Into JPEG in Debian and It’s Derivatives

You can easily convert raw photo format, CR2 into JPEG format. Here’s the simple procedure to convert batch CR2 raw files into JPEG.

  • First install ufraw– an application to help you convert raw CR2 images into JPEG.
apt-get install ufraw
  • cd to the directory where your CR2 files are in.
cd /path/of/the/directory
  • Now execute the following command. This would mass convert CR2 into JPEG.
for i in *.CR2; do ufraw-batch $i –out-type=jpeg –output $i.jpg; done;
