How to set ‘focus follows the mouse cursor’ on Debian Xfce?

The focus on Windows does not follow the mouse cursor by default in Debian Xfce. But you can change it to your way. I wanted the opened windows to set focus following the mouse pointer so that I don’t have to click with the mouse to set the focus. Just moving the mouse pointer over a window would set focus on it. The procedure’s pretty easy.

  • Go to Settings Manager > Window Manager > Focus.
  • Select Focus follows mouse.
  • That’s it. Additionally, what I did, I set ‘Always on top‘ to the main window I work on.
