Laptop Keyboard Shows Numbers When Alphabetic Keys Are Pressed

Laptop keyboards which come with numbers inscribed along with the alphabets often creates problems. When alphabetic keys are pressed, numbers are shown. This happens when your Num key is Locked and couldn’t be revert back in any other way. There’s a simple solution here. You can turn the Num key On and Off by clicking on a file in case your Num key doesn’t work.

  • Open Notepad and paste the following into it:

set WshShell = CreateObject(wScript.Shell”)
WshShell.SendKeys “{NUMLOCK}”

  • While saving it, name it anything you like with .vbs format. For example, you can name it numkey_on_off.vbs
  • From now on, clicking this file would solve the problem by turning the Num key On or Off.
