Hiding files and folders in Linux based distributions are pretty easy. The process is same for both the cases of files and folders. While renaming the files and/or folders, put a period sign, “.” (without double quotes) before the name/s. For example, if the name if example, then put a “.” (without double quotes) before the name like .example and it would be hidden.
So see the hidden files and/or folders, use Ctrl + h from the keyboard. It would show you the hidden files and/or folders in the current folder/directory. To vanish the hidden files and/or folders from eyesights, again press Ctrl + h. This acts like toggle keys. It’s that easy.
